May: Queen Anoshi

May 11, 2019

This month's author is Queen Anoshi, a new to me author who I really enjoyed interviewing!

Here's more about her:

Authoress Queen Anoshi is a native of Beaufort, SC. She was born with the gift to talk and make up stories on a whim. She started writing poetry as a young child which was her outlet to conquer different adversities in her life.

It wasn't until her service in the Army and her first deployment to Bosnia that she began writing short stories as a way to pass time. She felt that her writings could take her to a different place and time and that she could be and do anything that her mind could conceive.

From there her love for fiction began to expound. Anoshi takes her personal experiences with love, heart break and finding that special person and uses them as a key element in her creative writings. She believes that one can't write anything, not even fiction, without putting parts of themselves in it. She wants her readers and supporters to relate and connect to her personally as if they walked with her everyday. She wants everyone of them to become a part of her "WRITER'S SOUL", only then can they understand her passion for life and love.

She writes pure romance, erotic romance, and paranormal romance novels as well as short stories related to the drama of finding and conquering that awesome love. She is ready to share her imagination in love, romance, sex with all that is willing
to ride with her.

Interview:

Can you tell me what inspired your latest novel? Where did the idea come from?

My latest book, Soul Mates 2, is what I thought was the conclusion to the Soul Mates series. It was pure love that gave the inspiration for this book. The idea just popped in my head to show a different side of African American love. Although there this is drama, it shows a life that is not street based, but of people who are rich and successful.

What does your workday look like?

I get up are 6:30 to meditate for my coming day and I handle my clients (I am a doctor that does energy healing). I am usually finished around 12. I usually sit down to write for a few hours before I pick up my daughter from school. Then it’s mother daughter time before bed.

If you could co-write a novel with anyone, who would it be?

Erica Hale, T P Horton or Stephanie White.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

Write from your heart and head (i.e. listen to your characters because there is no such thing as writers block, it’s just that your characters don’t feel like talking so don’t stress it). Believe in yourself and most of all trust your writing process. Be inspired by others but be your own kind of writer, don’t try to be like the next person. Practice makes perfect and trust you will spend you whole life practicing (lol).

I love this!

What’s a genre you haven’t written but would like to try?

I am currently writing SCI-FI.

What are your hobbies outside of writing?

I love working on the outside in nature. Anything I can do out there I will do.

If you had to go on vacation with one of your characters, who would it be, where would you go, and why?

That’s a hard one. But I think it would be Tamia in the book Her Shifters Future, because she and I have like minds. I would travel to somewhere like the mountains and sit in nature, because she and I both don’t like being in public that much. We both like solitude and quietness.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Panster, I have never been able to use an outline on my writing because I allow the characters to tell the story, I am just the relay the message on paper.

Tell me about your book.

Soul Mates 2 Inferno is the second part of the Soul Mates series. It takes you into the life of two people who found love after divorce (must read part one to get in all in lol.) They are rich, yet they have to deal with everyday life. Children, work and of course past life drama, this takes you on a ride of love and deep deep passion. I have been coined the queen of porn by some because of my love for intimacy in my books. Yet every seen is passionate but classy. Shana and Dervin have their own insecurities and at times it seems that they want to give up. Will they? It’s true to life that money can’t buy happiness or drive away drama. I think only true Soul Mate love can do that.

What’s your favorite book?

I don’t have a favorite book. I make whatever book I am writing my favorite. If I don’t look at my works as favorites, I will not put my all into what I am writing. I think that is why I write in many different genres, so I won’t compare.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (Can be writing related or life in general)?

Dare to be different and unique. Don’t be afraid to follow your own path, and love harder, but love yourself harder. And most of all trust the path that the Creator has for your life. If you do all those things, then you will always find a reason to smile.

What’s next? (book-wise)

I am working on a mystical book called Witchphiliam. It is psychological, paranormal and romance all in one. This book going into the deepest parts of myself.

Would you rather … be a shifter or a vampire?

A vampire that shifts. I love the both the same because they are both sexy creatures. Plus, I write about them both, so I don’t want to be bias and get them upset hahaha.

Where do you write and can we see a picture?

I write everywhere in my house because my characters starts talking when they feel like it. But mostly on my computer in my living room.

Which of your characters is your favorite and why?

Shana, of Soul Mates because she is grown and sexy and nasty. She doesn’t back down from a fight and that keeps Dervin on his toes. The thing about her though is even though she is feisty her love for Dervin is submissive and nurturing and that drives him to be crazy in love with her. She is me and I am Her. (Don’ tell the rest of the characters, they tend to be spoiled.)

What are your writing must-haves?

A cup of tea and a quiet space.

Dream vacation?

One with lots of trees, an outdoor spa and no neighbors so that I can sexually harass the man I love.

What job would you be doing if you hadn't become an author?

I love helping people so that is the job I am doing now. I am a Doctor of Metaphysics/Healer.

Do you get writer's block, and if so, what do you do to combat it?

I don’t believe in writers block. I believe that when I can’t write that means my characters don’t want to talk. So, I just wait for them to talk again. Afterall there is no rush for the story to come out.

What books are you looking forward to reading this year?

I am currently reading captured by Beverly Jenkins. I don’t have a list of books that I look at. I just pick a book out the blue and try it.

What were your favorite books this past year?

I have read hundreds of books and I must say they all have been my favorite at the moment I read them.

What book inspired you to write?

I started writing to deal with the effects of PTSD. I love being able to write about a different life, helped me conquer my deepest fears.

Thank you so much for letting me interview you!

Soul Mates 2: Inferno is out now!

The Gibdon’s are back and they are hotter than ever.  More secrets, mad ex’s, and angry children will bring more flair to this romantic tale.

Whoever said that Soul Mate love is all roses and no thrones were wrong.

Dervin thought that moving would solve his problems, but instead, he finds out that running never solves anything. Now he has an upset wife who will do whatever it takes to defend her family.

When things go up in flames will it push Shana to walk away from her marriage or will she stand beside her husband?

Shana and Dervin will learn the art of Trust for one another. Dervin learns that his easy-going wife has a dark side. And Shana realizes that her husband is passive because he is fighting not to be the man he once was.

These two will learn what true love really is when they walk through the fire together.

Let’s hope that they won’t get burned in the Inferno.
